Undergraduate Work Year 2 Project 3, 2016
To design a place which gathers the community in Hillsborough from different age groups. The existing stone wall around the side is acting as the design springboard. The main materials of the building are stone, timber, and glass to create a link between historical and modern architecture. The design was intended to integrate the nature into the building thus keeping the harmony between nature and architecture. The design also promoted a sense of verticality by the vertical glulam columns spreading across the building The plain east stone façade is trying to celebrate the business of the west façade and create a strong threshold between public and the building.
